Physics Department Meeting

Members present: Mark Larchez (chair), Ellen Carlson, Robert Foley, Paul Henkiel, Laura McCullough, Jim Pejsa, Jim Rada, John Rompala, Alan Scott

 

M. Larchez called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.

 

1.      Met with Provost Bob Sedlack, discussed survey of student engagement results.

2.      Faculty Senate: Bob Foley resigned from Faculty Senate. Motion passed to select Jim Pejsa to serve the remaining one year of the three year term.

3.      Discussed Laura McCullough's proposal for restructuring the Intro to Physics course.

4.      Lab Manuals: Mark Larchez will prepare the Gen/Coll manuals, Bob Foley and Alan Scott will prepare the Univ manuals. Manuals need to be given to Ellen by the end of July for printing. Intro to Physics lab will continue with handouts.

5.  John Rompala has a summer fellowship at Marshall Space Flight Center.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 10:10.
