UW-Stout Physics Department Meeting Minutes

Members present: Mark Larchez (chair), Paul Henkiel, Jo Hopp, Laura McCullough, Jim Pejsa, John Rompala, Alan Scott, Ellen Carlson
 

Meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m.

 

1. Announcements

• Bob Foley's microwave research project will generate funds for the department. We'll need to decide how to use these funds.

• Laura McCullough was selected through the departmental advisory voting process as their choice for chair beginning January, 2008.

• Alan has submitted a $26,000 grant proposal.

 

2. Hiring

 

A set of recruitment tools for each of the two positions was distributed for discussion.

• Tool 1: Motion to approve Tool 1 with corrections for both positions passed (Hopp / Scott).

• Tool 2: Motion to approve Tool 2 with corrections for both positions passed (Hopp / Scott).

• Tool 3: Discussed and made corrections to parts of Tool 3. To be continued at the 10/17/07 meeting.
