UW-Stout Physics Department Meeting Minutes

Members present: Mark Larchez (chair), Paul Henkiel, Jo Hopp, Laura McCullough, Jim Pejsa, John Rompala, Alan Scott
 

Meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m.

 

1. Announcements

• Dean's office would like a list of staff not on permanent contract.

• Spring 2008 course offerings:

  • We have demand for University Physics II, and additional sections of University Physics I, Geology & Soil Mechanics, and Statics & Strength of Materials. Highest priority is University Physics II.

  • To accommodate offering University Physics II, we could drop one or more of the following: Meteorology, Astronomy, or one section of Intro to Geology.

  • Members were asked to express interest in teaching an overload. Alan Scott would be willing on the condition that his grant proposal is not funded.

• Jo Hopp will make copies of a Lab Mod proposal for eye tracking equipment available for members to review. If necessary, the proposal will be discussed at the 10/19/07 meeting.

 

2. Minutes

• Motion to approve 9/28/07 minutes passed (McCullough / Scott).

• Motion to approve 10/03/07 minutes passed (McCullough / Scott).

• Motion to approve 10/05/07 minutes passed (McCullough / Scott).

• Motion to approve 10/12/07 minutes passed (McCullough / Scott).

 

3. Hiring Tools

Discussion and revision of Tool 3 continued. Laura and Alan will distribute updated copies of all Tools for the 10/19/07 meeting.
