UW-Stout Physics Department Meeting Minutes

Members present: Laura McCullough (search committee chair), Mark Larchez, Paul Henkiel, Jo Hopp, Alan Scott, Jim Pejsa, John Rompala

Meeting was called to order at 8:00a.m.

Announcements

1. Mark mentioned that efforts to staff an additional section of PHYS-242 was unsuccessful. It is estimated that about 15 students are back-logged in this course.

2. Laura expressed interest in moving the College Physics I labs to Wednesdays and Thursdays. This would permit space to be used as a staging area for the expected move in May 2008. Alan asked if this shift would impact the University Physics I labs. Laura would check into which courses it would impact. The move was recommended by general concensus.

Minutes

1. Approval of the minutes for the meeting of December 14, 2007, was deferred.

New Business

1. Alan moved to enter into closed session. Jo seconded. Motion passed.

(Closed session was convened.)

(Closed session was adjourned)

2. Search committee reconvened in open session.

3. Meeting adjourned at 9:00am until 8am on Thursday, December 20th at 8am.
