Physics Department Network Printer Setup - Lab SW115

 

1. Open Printers and Faxes: Click Start, Printers and Faxes

 

2. If you have previously installed this printer (named “SW115_HP4050”), delete it.

 

3. Click Add a Printer to start the Add Printer Wizard

 

4. Choose “Local printer attached to this computer” and uncheck “Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer”.

 

 

5. Choose Create a new port: Type of port: Standard TCP/IP Port

 

 

 

Clicking the Next> button will start the “Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard”

 

6. Enter Printer IP Address as shown:

 

 

 

 

Click Finish button. The “Add Printer Wizard” will now resume.

 

7. Choose the HP LaserJet 4050 Series PCL6 printer from the list:

 

 

8. If you have previously installed this model printer, choose Keep existing driver:

 

 

9. Name the printer as shown:

 

 

10. Print a test page and click the Next> button to complete the Wizard.
