(The tunnel is not extremely high...the person is extremely small.  My 2 year old daughter is standing in the tunnel.)

This tunnel was part of a highway project that expanded St. Rt 12/29 (East of Menomonie) into a 4 lane divided highway.  An article in the Dunn County News on 11/22/98 mentioned the following numbers regarding this project:

"(total) dirt removed and placed to get to a new grade level was 330,000 cubic yards.  There were 104,300 tons of gravel put down, aspalt pavement laid totaled 14,000 tons; 68,700 (cubic) yards was concrete used."
