Certain populations of subjects are protected by Federal guidelines. If you are working with these populations, you must provide extra precautions to protect them.
Children/minors (persons under 18)
Mentally incapacitated persons
Legally incompetent persons
Prisoners
Pregnant women
Projects involving these special populations may merit review by the full board, which meets once a month. Please allow at least a month for IRB review of these projects.
